An exhibition of new works by Edward Burtynsky, titled 'Salt Pans', is underway at the Howard Greenberg Gallery, New York, and will be on view through December 31, 2016.

The show focuses on the artist’s acclaimed ongoing series of photographs that examines different industrialized regions around the world. The works currently on view are specific to the Little Rann of Kutch in northern India and offer the audience a striking perspective of the landscape as seen from a helicopter during an intense ten-day period. The geometric patterns that emerge across the salt pans resemble abstract, painterly images, yet the reality behind this beauty is one of environmental and economic decay.
