France Scully Osterman

Daydream, 2001

France Scully Osterman is an artist, writer, and educator at Scully & Osterman Studio and guest scholar at George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film, Rochester, New York.  Recognized for her artistic work and extensive knowledge of early photographic processes, she lectures and teaches throughout the United States, Japan and Europe.  Her writings and images are featured in Coming into Focus by John Barnier, The Book of Alternative Photographic Processes by Christopher James, Le Vocabulaire Technique de la Photographie by Anne Cartier-Bresson, and Photographic Possibilities, by Robert Hirsch.

Osterman’s images are in the collections of the Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas; Museum of Fine Art, Houston; Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art, Cornell University, Ithaca; George Eastman House International Museum of Photography & Film; and the Taubman Museum of Art, Roanoke.
